Eligibility for Category A2 Motorcycle Training
Age
Minimum age 19.
Direct Access
Age 19+; valid CBT and motorcycle theory plus A2 practical tests.
Progressive Access
Age 19+ with at least two years of full A1 experience, then relevant A2 practical tests.
Training on public roads
A2 learner riders must be accompanied by an Approved Motorcycle Instructor while training on public roads.

Direct Access
For eligible riders aged 19+ using CBT, theory and A2 practical tests.
Progressive Access
For riders aged 19+ with at least two years of full A1 experience; relevant practical tests apply.
After passing
Full A2 entitlement covers motorcycles within the current A2 power rules.
Progress to A
After at least two years of full A2 entitlement, Progressive Access to Category A can be available from age 21.
